Not making a a resolution for next year. Each year I made a resolution to stop smoking,
hell I end up smoking more, damn the resolution.

I decided to send my condolence and my phone number. Thanks again
for all the wonderful advice. The last I heard he is no longer a elder.
I will inform you folks on the outcome.

Friends I served with in the missionary work the wife passed this past week.
My son told me today, his JW mother told him. I was really close to this family, it's
been over 20 years since I saw them last. But the husband an elder in his 70's
now and his lovely wife and kids, I learned a lot from this family.
A few years ago my son, never baptized was visiting his mom and one of the brothers that is still
in the missionary work was here on vacation (work really) and two other elders that also served in
that country took my son his mom and her husband out for day of fishing.
My son later told me dad it was weird, the conversation the whole day, the fun we had in
the missionary work. My son was born there, so all the stories were new to him.
I guess it got out of hand because my ex wife husband became upset and ask why are you
guys talking about an Apostate. He left Jehovah, just let me out of the boat. LOL
There are some JW's that are basically good people, but like I said it's been over 20 years.
Both their kids left the borg and I know it hurt them, but they did not shun their kids.
In fact I would love to call the husband to give my condolence, they were married over 50 years.
Some of you may think , what's the problem just do it.
Well five years ago my sister gave instruction to her husband (my brother-in law), their kids to
inform me not to come to her funeral . She told them this a week before she died.
i could not find mention of this before.
i was reading genesis 8:22 in the niv and was surprised i had never noticed that this verse gives the impression that the earth will not remain forever.
genesis 8:22 stated by god after the flood, when promising to never again destroy all living creatures.. as long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.
The calculated lifetime for earth is 7.79 billion years, it's estimated to be about
4.5 billion years. So I guess you can say that is forever, but it will end one day after
we are loooong gone.

The difference between "forever" and "eternal"
The Hebrew word in both is the same Olam which means "age lasting or
the end of the age. The earth will last until it reaches the end of it's age which
God has established.
EX. 12;14 A feast for the Lord throughout your generation as a statue forever.
Lev.23:41 You shall celebrate it as a feast to my Lord for seven days in the years. It is
a statute forever throughout your generation.

i was dwelling over a discussion going on at jw-archive.
the old topic of the legitimacy of the gb and the concept of centralized organization.
despite what the wt claims, there are a number of examples in the new testament of actions and decisions taken without direction or even the awareness of the elders in jerusalem.. despite whatever other evidence jw may have about the organizational tendencies of god (namely the creation, universe, whatever else they usually bring up), the concept of an organized nation never originated from god.
According to the Bible, God gave man the power of choice and free will. Man chose to
break that relationship and has been trying to find his own way by inventing religion and
cults of all kinds in an effort to replace that void left by lack of relationship with
his creator. Of course this may be true if you believe in the Bible.
The God of the Bible invented man and man invented religion.
Genesis 2;24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother (who was Adam mother and father)
and joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh in the Church, KH, Temple, synagogue or
something. Come on folks, don't you think an all knowing God would have foreseen the problem.
